Ellen Zebrun, WOLF Omega
“Engaging Employees and Engaging Customers in Growth-Driven Innovation”: for me, this is the most important tag line on the Wolf Means Business web site. The key word is ‘engaging’, and the key concept is the engagement of both employees and customers. In business, there are two sides to the equation – there is no business without customers, but no business can thrive without the employees, no matter how few or many.
For customers, engagement is sought, but often incorrectly. The beautiful thing about WOLF is its model of going directly to the source – the customers themselves. Instead of focus groups or marketing surveys, customers are brought together in direct contact with the business leaders working side by side over time. It is a brave act for senior management to ask the tough questions and sincerely want to hear the answers. I was part of an Omega WOLF Innovation team for Best Buy; our team was asked to answer ‘what do women like about our stores?” and the answer was a resounding, “NOTHING and here are the many, many reasons why”. It’s tough to hear that message, but there is an immediacy and honesty in that unfiltered response that can lead to profound change.
There are companies out there that see the possibilities engaging its employees and customers on a new and different level, and I am convinced that WOLF has the most powerful process to bring about that change.
